He is Jealous for me....

Today at church we soaked in the Love of the Father. As we sang How He Loves Us, I kept thinking of that first line:  He is Jealous for me.... He is Jealous for ME. What is taking up my time and attention that He is jealous for me? He wants to spend every minute of every day with us. He's always there, waiting. Unlike a jealous lover He isn't mean or brash. He instead waits for us, eagerly like the Father waited for the Prodigal son to return to Him. He is full of mercy, full of love, full of grace, and as the song says: I don't have time to maintain all these regrets when I think about the way He loves us. So no, I won't dwell on all the time I didn't spend with Him. I won't dwell on when my attention wasn't focused on Him, instead I will reflect on His great love...I pray that all who would read this would have a fresh revelation of His love. Here is the version of the song that I like by Kim Walker Smith.

Intimacy

God has been speaking one word over me this entire year: Intimacy. It's for me, but I also believe He desires intimacy with all who call Him Lord. He desires deep relationships with His bride. He longs for us to include Him in every decision we make. In every conversation we have. Every minute of the day. What are our first thoughts when we wake up? Are they of Him? Oh Jesus, I pray You restore our hearts to our first love. I don't want to be like the church of Laodicea. I don't want to be lukewarm. I want to live a life worthy of the gospel. (Philippians 1:27). I want to be the same to all people, here I am, I'm Tina and I'm madly in love with my Jesus! I don't want to squash that down when I'm with unbelievers. I want to desire to read His word daily. I don't want to have the mentality of oh I have to read my bible, but rather I get to. What a privilege it is that we have such access to Gods word. I need to get that. There are an estimated 180 million people in the world without access to a bible in their own language. 180 million!

Years ago all I heard about was Revival. Revival of course is great. We need a spiritual awakening. It's often been said revival starts with you. With your own heart. So how is your heart? Is it in need of revival? I will leave you with some songs that speak to me of intimacy. I hope this post helps someone. I speak in love. I speak as one who has a long way to go still but one who desires everyone to come into a place of intimacy with Jesus.

Born Again...

This weekend was amazing. Friends came to church and shared from their heart. I was touched so much but over all I was filled to overflowing with the Love of God. Since saturday I've been so filled with joy, peace and love. I'm finding things that usually bug me aren't....not everything but mostly. The screaming coach at soccer tonight almost grounded me but not quite, haha.  I've been trying to figure out how to portray how I'm feeling. Suddenly this song popped in my head. Its a Third Day song, I don't even know it well but I know the chorus. It sums up my feeling fairly well:

It feels like I'm born again, It feels like I'm living
For the very first time, I'm living for the first time
It feels like I'm breathing, it feels like I'm moving
For the very first time, I'm living for the first time
In my life.

And now I'm better equipped to walk in the way He wants me to. To live in a way that is pleasing to Him and to shine bright for Him and hopefully I can bless some people along the way.

Open Door

May 31, 2015

God keeps speaking this one word over me, Intimacy. Today during worship I felt a break in the spiritual realm, we entered in deeper into His Presence, during the singing Ally drew a picture of the cross. Upon the cross she wrote God loves me. This is a typical drawing for her. What is not typical is the next thing she drew. At the top of the cross she drew a door. At the top of the cross she drew a door. I had the word intimacy going over in my head again and again when I saw it. Immediately I thought of Revelation 4 where John speaks of his vision of Heaven (really the whole chapter): After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this." Also today when I saw Ally's picture I thought of the Jake Hamilton song Drink in Deep, it says: I see an open door, I hear a voice that's calling, He's calling come up here, He's calling come up here...I just read the lyrics and the whole song speaks intimacy to me. There's an open door, He's longing for you to enter in, go deeper with Him. There's no place I'd rather be.

May 22, 2015

Every morning I usually wake up, lay in bed, grab my phone and scroll Facebook. Today though I did something different. I got up. Grabbed my bible and went outside to spend some quiet time with God. Yesterday I read an article called Stop Reading your Bible. Sounds misleading. The author didn't mean to actually stop reading your bible but rather stop reading your bible with the motivation of checking it off your good Christian check list but rather read it with expectancy. Read it with intention. Read it as Gods love letter to you. Pray and ask God to reveal something to you. I think too often we can get in our heads oh we have to read lots or we aren't being a 'good' christian. Yestereday God laid one verse in my head and a line from a song that really spoke into my life something I've been struggling with. One verse. I read a chapter too from the book I'm currently reading but thats it. Reading that one verse and one chapter for me was much more effective than the days I've read 4 chapters. Read them then forgot about them. I reflected on that one verse all day and still am. So here's my challenge to all. Start your day off with God.....before Facebook, before email or anything. Ask God to reveal Himself to you through His word. Read with intention and expectancy, not because you have to but because you want to. He wants intimate relationship with us. If we only spent time with our husbands once a week our relationship wouldn't be very strong. Seek Him. He is faithful and just waiting for us.

May 26

I'm updating things I've shared online so I can keep all the things I share that God gives me in one place.

This morning I woke up with Your Great Name in my head. It is on a YouTube playlist I sometimes listen to but I have not listened to for a couple weeks, so not a song I have listened to recently. Then this morning a verse jumped out at me as I read my bible, it said:
For the sake of HIS GREAT NAME The Lord will not reject His people, because The Lord was pleased to make you his own. 1 Samuel 13:22....how cool is that!

Day 3 of Songs that Touch my Heart

Ok so this next song, is from Amanda Cook, and is titled: You Don't Miss a Thing. She is one of the many worshippers with Bethel Live and I LOVE her! She has such talent and I'm NOT so patiently awaiting a solo cd from her, I adore her tone (one of the things that I'm all about) and her passion for Jesus (very important!) The song is off Bethel's new album We will not be Shaken. For me the lyrics that really hit me are these:

There's no place I can go your love won't find me
no place I can hide that you don't see
no place I could fall that your love couldn't catch me
you see it all, you see it all through the eyes of love

listen to just the above portion of the song here: http://www.tubechop.com/watch/5420221

the above goes on and it is amazing...later the last line of this portion says Your in love with me...we hear of God loving us but IN love with us? To me that speaks of such intimacy.

The above verse also reminds me of one of my favourite scriptures Psalm 139, I encourage you to read it.

Here is the full song with lyrics.

Day 2 of Songs that touch my heart...

At the Cross (Love Ran Red) by Chris Tomlin

The first time I heard this song...wow! I am dying to do this one corporately. I will continue to wait patiently, for now, I will listen and worship to it alone. All the lyrics are fantastic but these are the ones that stick out to me, the chorus:

At the cross
At the cross
I surrender my life
I'm in awe of You
I'm in awe of You
Where Your love ran red
and my sin washed white
I owe all to You
I owe all to You Jesus

Then later on this:

Here my hope is found
Here on holy ground
Here I bow down
Here arms open wide
Here You save my life
Here I bow down
Here I bow down

What an amazing thing Jesus did when He was obedient and died on the cross. His love truly did run red in that act of obedience, talk about love in action! I am in complete utter awe of Him!

You can read all the lyrics here: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/christomlin/atthecross.html

Day one of Songs that touch my heart...

Don't know how long I will be doing this but if you know me even a little bit you will quickly find out that I LOVE music. I enjoy all sorts of music (NO country!),  but most often the music that touches my heart will probably be worship music. I guess what it really gets down to is I LOVE to worship because He has done so much for me. He is so good! Sometimes I've even worshipped through songs that weren't written as a worship song and yet I find a lyric that speaks to me that is relevant to what God has done in my life and all of a sudden I'm worshipping my God through a song that wasn't written for God's glory, and suddenly He is praised through it. My intention of this blog series is to share with you all the songs that touch my heart. Hopefully through doing so you can get a glimpse into what I'm about and most of all hopefully through it God will be glorified. With that being said I've been going through a Delirious kick. These songs for me do not get old. Seriously good stuff, I'm pretty sure as I grow in Christ and get stronger and more mature in my faith that I actually love these songs more than when they first came out. For me they are timeless.  Song One is....

Obsession by Delirious....this song. Wow. This songs music is amazing! Usually for me the thing that hooks me in a song is the lyrics. Don't get me wrong, still essential but this songs music is like I said: AMAZING. The Bass in it is SO good, best listened loud enough that you can feel it.
